I am very much spellbound at Christmastime. This is how I’ve always been. It’s the music, the lights, the scent of my favorite Frasier Fir candle. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the gifts — there is no better feeling than finding the perfect present for someone on my list. (My best friend and I actually got each other the exact same thing. Entrepreneurs love stationary.)
This year, the holiday was low-key and delightful. Our family came over for Christmas Eve dinner, and then the next day, my brothers and parents and I lounged around. There was a drone, too, but that wound up stuck in a tree after a few minutes of flight. I wore pajamas from sunrise to sunset — and it felt so good.
In true Chicago fashion, it did not snow until a few days after the 25th. We got an icy, freezing rain storm instead of a White Christmas. There’s always next year.
